ECC is an annual workshop dedicated to the study of elliptic curve cryptography and related areas. For more information, also about past editions of ECC, please see the main ECC website. The 23rd Workshop on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC 2019) will be organized by CASA - Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries in Bochum, Germany, on 2 – 4 December 2019.

The aim of ECC is to bring together leading experts from academia, industry, and government, as well as young researchers and graduate students for the purpose of exchanging ideas and presenting their work. The ECC workshops have invited presentations only. Presentations give an overview on emerging or established areas of modern cryptography, often combined with new research findings.

Travel:

Bochum is situated approximately 50 km from Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS), about 100 km from Cologne airport (CGN), and about 300 km from Frankfurt Airport. All three airports have excellent train connections to Bochum.

Düsseldorf Airport to Bochum Hauptbahnhof (main station): From any of the terminals take the free airport shuttle to the train station (Flughafen bahnhof). From there you can buy a "Zone C" ticket and you must remember to validate (time stamp) the ticket before boarding the train. There are plenty of trains from this station to Bochum HBF. The Zone C ticket is valid on S-Bahn and RE trains. If you want to take an Intercity train then you will have to pay a higher fare and buy a ticket from bahn.de.

Frankfurt Airport to Bochum Hauptbahnhof (main station): An exact timetable for trains to Bochum Hauptbahnhof can be found here. You can buy the ticket online or in the train station

Bochum Hauptbahnhof (main station) to the university: Take the subway U35 (direction Hustadt) and get off at station "Universität". It is necessary to buy a ticket "Zone A" in advance and validate (time stamp) it either before entering the platform. In case you have a ticket "Zone C" it is still valid here.

Accommodations:

There are plenty of hotels near the train station.
